 New York

We made it back from New York...safe and sound .  Not that I didn't think we wouldn't.

Actually I think I had more fun than my daughter did and I wasn't looking forward to going at all.

I was surprised by the amount of people in the city.  I knew it was crowded but I guess I didn't realize how crowded it actually is.  The number of foreign languages spoken throughout the day was amazing

The people there weren't outright rude, but they aren't friendly either.  It's more like they just go about their business and don't have time for anything else .  This is so different than where I live that I found it amusing .  We generally can't leave the house without stopping at some point and talking to someone.

The smells were not all that different but they were.  I know that doesn't make sense.  The exhaust fumes were terrible .  Very strong.  The smell of food cooking was nice...until you inhaled a big lung full of fumes !

We walked SO much on Friday that I thought my legs were going to fall off . We didn't really do much sightseeing...mainly walking and shopping. All in all...it turned out pretty good. I would like to go back when I have more time and can take the time to actually see some of the sights

 New York

My oldest daughter(17)and I are going to New York on Friday.  It's a field trip for her fashion marketing class she takes at school.  It's been planned for months now.  At first I was excited about going. For some reason now, I just cannot bring myself to get excited about it.

I'm trying not to be blah about it because she is SO excited about going there. I don't want to ruin it for her (even though I don't think anything other than NOT going could affect her right now) . I have been in this funky mood all week and not sure why .  I think it just boils down to PMS .  Just what I need on a trip to New York with no telling how many teenage girls .

I don't really know why I'm not more excited than I am. It's a day of shopping and touring the city. What's not to have fun about... Oh well....at least I can wish for nice weather

 Cheating....

I was recently put in an awkward position

I was faced with a friend cheating on his wife. . This made me slightly uncomfortable.  I know both him and his wife so this makes me sort of like an accomplice to his crime, so to speak. I don't like being in that position.

It seems like when faced with something like that, most people do tend to turn their backs on what's going on. I'm not sure why this is but I'm figuring that most people don't want to get in the middle of a family thing like that. I know I don't. I've got enough of my own shit to deal with without having to worry about what they are doing.

Although....he did ASK me what I thought.....so I just HAD to tell him. I know whatever I said won't make a difference one way or the other about what he does but since he did ask, I felt that I really wanted to tell him what I thought of the whole thing. After discussing this for about an hour and a half, I'm guessing that he will never ask my opinion on anything else.

I'm Going To Be A Builder When I Grow Up......

. . . . . Did you hear about little Jimmy? He is four years old. He was bugging Mother so she said, "Jimmy, why don't you go across the street and watch the builders work. Maybe you'll learn something." Jimmy was gone about 2 hours. When he came home his Mother asked him what he learned. Jimmy replied, "Well, first you put the God damn door up, then the son of a bitch doesn't fit, so you have to take the cock sucker back down. Then you have to take a cunt hair off each side and put the mother fucker back up." Jimmy's Mother said, "You wait till your Dad comes home." When Jimmy's dad got home, mom told him to ask Jimmy what he learned across the street. Jimmy told his dad the whole story. Dad said, "Jimmy, you go outside and get the switch." Jimmy replied, "Fuck you, that's the Electrician's job."
