 Woman's Prayer

I was trying to post the pictures with this prayer but can't get it to work so I am just going to let it fly with the words

Now I lay me
Down to sleep
I pray the Lord
My shape to keep
Please no wrinkles
Please no bags
And please life my butt
Before it sags
Please no age spots
Please no gray
And as for my belly
Please take it away
Please keep me healthy
Please keep me young
And thank you Dear Lord
For all that you've done

FIVE TIPS FOR A WOMAN....(They are old but they are good )

1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job

2. It is important that a man makes you laugh

3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to you

4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you

5. It is important that these four men don't know each other

"If we don't get some support soon, people will think we're nuts"

 Quote of the day

To make the right choices in life, you have to get in touch with your soul. To do this, you need to experience solitude, which most people are afraid of, because in the silence you hear the truth and know the solutions." -- Deepak K. Chopra

 Hmmm.....

I don't normally post on the weekends. No reason for this other than I am usually not in the house that much and when I am in, the kids are either on the computer or on the phone. Hence the reason no one can ever get through to my house unless they call someone's cell phone. This is a pretty sad state of affairs, lol

I was going back over some of my posts and read my first post about taking my kids to Wally World to get a fish. I know that was a while back but I never did tell the story of that night.

Well, instead of going to Wally World, we decided to take our two labs to Petsmart and get the fish there. This ended up being a HUGE mistake.

Baxter AKA "Scooby" is almost 7 years old and Chloe AKA "Scrappy" is about 8 months old. Well Scooby hasn't had much interaction with the outside world so when he goes into public, he's like a kid in a candy shop . Chloe is still young and of course has the rowdiness of a puppy. Scooby weighs about 100 pounds and is like trying to control Marmaduke on a leash. Especially when my daughter, who weighs about the same, is the one controlling the leash. She was being walked more than he was. He was knocking over stuff from the shelves while Scrappy being the follower that she is, tried to mimic Scooby in everything he did. It was like someone opened the gate to a horserace as soon as we entered the store. Scooby took off scoping everything out...looking for a place to pee...which he did!!!! All over a stack of boxes.

I was following behind the dogs and the kids laughing my ass off and about to pee in my pants all while being embarrassed at the same time. I don't even know how long we were in the store but it seemed like forever. In all reality it was probably 10 minutes. We were in there long enough to make a circle of the store and get the hell out of there.

Not too much embarrasses me (my kids and husband have cured that for me) but the "destroying duo" did embarrass me that night. I had recently read a book about a man and his lab named Marley (great book by the way) and he had a similar instance in his book that kept crossing my mind while this was going on.

Needless to say we did not get the fish that we went for and Scooby and Scrappy are now homebound until further notice!! I bring this up because I think Chloe is going to have a flipping litter of more Scoobies and Scrappies!!!!!!!

WANTED "SCOOBY" AKA--Baxter

 Friendship

What makes a good friend? Is it the fact that they listen to you? That they are there for you? They will do things for you? Always remembers your birthday? Your kids birthday? Doesn't mind a 3am wake up call just to listen? Will give you a ride if you need one? There are so many different things that make a good friend to me. I don't think it can be just one quality.

What about a friend that has flaws (of course we all do, we're human)? Is it a flaw that can be overlooked because they have many other good qualities? What if they keep repeating things that you've asked them not to do? Should you stop being their friend? What if they have a bad day and take out the anger on you? Do you walk out on them as a friend? How many "get out of jail free" tickets do they get? Do they get any? How forgiving does one friend have to be to the other?

These questions of good and bad could go on and on but I think it's up to each individual person to decide what is best for them as far as what type of friend they want or need and how that friendship will play out in their own lives.

For me....I've got different types of friends. I've got some friends that I've known since middle school and high school. Some I've only known a short period of time. I've got friends that hang out at my house almost every weekend and get on my nerves but I still love 'em. I've got friends that range in age from 19 to 70 something.

Friends are friends!!! They may come in different shapes and sizes. They may also come from different backgrounds, countries or ethnicities. They may be of a different age group than your own. They may be friends you've known your whole life or maybe someone you just met.

The bottom line here is that everybody needs friends! It doesn't matter who they are or where they come from as long as they are your friend and you are theirs. As long as you have the understanding of your friendship it should be fulfilling and worthwhile in the long run. It's a long, lonely life without friends. There is no certain amount of friends that people need. That, like so many decisions about friendship, is up to the individual person. Some people need a lot of friends while others are content with just a few close friends. However you decide to do it in your life is how it should be. But please at least have one person that you can call a friend!!!

 "Maryanna"

We {myself, hubby, our three kids, my brother, his daughter, her boyfriend and their baby} took my mom out to eat for Mother's Day on Saturday evening .

We went Saturday because my mom was going out of town to see a sick friend on Sunday .

Dinner at Olive Garden was nice and mostly uneventful. As you may know, they bring you all the salad and bread sticks that you want. This was good but my mom wanted some dipping sauce, which shouldn't pose a problem for most people . But with my mom, it's not that easy.

There are certain words that my mom cannot say correctly to save her life . I do not know why this is, but it has always been that way since I've been around .

Well my mom proceeds to ask the waiter to bring two bowls of marinara sauce.  Of course, the word marinara does not come out as it should sound from my mom's mouth.  She asks the waiter for what she calls "maryanna" sauce .

Needless to say, all of us at the table crack up laughing.  The poor waiter looks as if he wants to bust a gut but is trying so hard to maintain his composure.  It was so funny .

But wait!!!!

After all is ordered and the table quiets down slightly, my mom looks around at everybody and wants to know what was so funny.  Of course, we tell her that she said it wrong but she denies that she did and says "maryanna" once again like that is the correct pronunciation of the word

Well, we, all being the grown ups that we are, erupted into rounds of laughter once again .

Don't get me wrong.  I really love my mom and don't mean to make fun of her but c'mon.....learn the word Mom!!!! Please!!!!
