 Wednesday

For the most part it's been quiet around the house all week.  The kids went to their aunt's house last Thursday and didn't come home until Monday afternoon.  The girls went back to their aunt's house again today.  My son had to stay here and go to summer school, which started today.

Hubby and I have been running the roads getting some stuff taken care of.  As much as we've rode around this week, I feel like my ass has grown roots to the truck seat.  I've got 4 days left and I know I've got to do some running on two of those days.  I'm hoping the other two, I won't have to go anywhere.  I'm not sure which door has the record for opening and shutting the most, the back door of the house or the truck doors.  In and out....that's what it's been like all week.

Changing subjects completely here...

The puppies are 3 weeks old today.  They're sooo cute.  Walking everywhere, or sometimes still stumbling.  I've been trying to get some good pictures of them but they aren't being very cooperative with  me right now.  Every time I snap the picture, they move or something.  I'll be posting a picture of them sometime later hopefully.

Hope everyone had a great 4th!!!!

 Social Security

After retiring, I went to the Social Security Office to apply for social security.

The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver's license to verify my age.

I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.

I told the woman that I was very sorry but I seemed to have left my wallet at home "I will have to go home and come back later."

The woman says, "Unbutton your shirt."

So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.

She says, "That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me" and she processed my Social Security application.

When I got home, I told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.

She says, "You should have dropped your pants.

You might have gotten disability too.

 DaVinci Code

Written across the wall of the cave were the following symbols:

It was considered a unique find and the writings were said to be at least three thousand years old!

The piece of stone was removed, brought to the museum, and archaeologists from around the world came to study the ancient symbols. They held a huge meeting after months of conferences to discuss the meaning of the markings.

The President of the society pointed to first drawing and said: "This is a woman. We can see these people held women in high esteem. You can also tell they were intelligent, as the next symbol is a donkey, so they were smart enough to have animals help them till the soil. The next drawing is a shovel, which means they had tools to help them."

Even further proof of their high intelligence is the fish which means that if a famine hit the earth and food didn't grow, they seek food from the sea. The last symbol appears to be the Star of David which means they were evidently Hebrews.

The audience applauded enthusiastically

Then a little old Jewish man stood up in the back of the room and said,

"Idiots, Hebrew is read from right to left...... It says:

'Holy Mackerel, Dig The A$$ On That Chick

 Ass

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The pastor was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and it won again.

The local paper read:
PASTOR'S A$$ OUT FRONT

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of publicity that he ordered the
pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read: BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR'S A$$.

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the pastor to get rid of
the donkey.

The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted the following headline the
next day: NUN HAS BEST A$$ IN TOWN.

The bishop fainted

He informed the nun that she would have to get rid of the donkey, so she
sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read: NUN SELLS A$$ FOR $10.

This was too much for the bishop, so he ordered the nun to buy back the
donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read: NUN ANNOUNCES HER A$$ IS WILD AND FREE.

The bishop was buried the next day....

Morale of the story is .... being concerned about public opinion can
bring you much grief and misery ... and even shorten your life. So be
yourself and enjoy life ..... you'll be a lot happier and live longer!
