Let's see....
What's been happening here....
I was busy last week trying to find a house to rent at the beach for vacation this year. It was a pain in the ass too because each one I would find, Hubby didn't like something about it. I almost gave up and told him to do it but then thought better of that. If I left vacation planning up to him, we'd pitch a tent on the pier (if that was allowed), wash off with cooler water and eat fish everyday for a week.
Now that the matter of the house is settled my mind is free to put thought into other things.

My youngest daughter does her behind the wheel starting on May 6th

. There just isn't a big enough smile here for me to relay what I'm feeling about this. She's had her learners for two years and FINALLY there will be a licensed driver in my house other than Hubby and myself.

I think she's really pushing this so she can drive Hubby's truck while we're at the beach

but I'm not sure they will be allowing driving on the beach in the Outerbanks anymore.

That issue is still up in the air, I believe.
My son, the only child of mine that has been 'driving' since he was 8 or 9 (thanks to hunting and dirt roads) can't seem to pass his test for his learner's permit

.
My oldest daughter still hasn't changed her ways and I'll just leave that like it is

Hmm....
Oh...we FINALLY got a pump for our pond and I won't even tell you how long THAT took us

. The pond still looks like crap. It's just a plastic pond with a fountain in the middle for now. The landscaping is HOPEFULLY coming in a few weeks. It's been raining every weekend for the past few weeks so we've not been able to get outside and do much.
Speaking of ponds...
There was a HUGE bullfrog that came out of the pond and ended up under our back deck. My son thought it would be funny to scare me with him, since he knows I don't like frogs.

The whole family conspired against me in this frog deal. My son had to go around the house trying to catch the frog so while he did that, Hubby went inside the house pretending to get something and when he came out, he locked the back door. As soon as I realized what Hubby had done, I started beating on the door for my oldest daughter to let me in. She came to the back door and sided with everyone BUT me. She wouldn't unlock the door and as my son came around the corner of the house, I saw the huge frog in his hands so I made a mad dash around the porch not knowing where the hell I was going...just running.....in circles a couple of times before finally jumping off the porch with my son still behind me. The only place I could think of was the truck so I ran to the truck, jumped in it and locked the door. Once inside, the adrenaline took hold. My hands were shaking and the tears started rolling. I was so humiliated that I CRIED over a FROG

and pissed because I threw my newly opened beer on the ground when my son started chasing me
Aside from frogs coming with spring...I'm so ready for the weather to break a stay warm. Spring fever is really starting to get to me now. I'm getting that itchy, antsy feeling deep down inside that makes me feel like I'm going to burst open if I don't get some warm, fresh air soon.

Went to a baby shower over the weekend that I swear had to be the LONGEST damn baby shower in the history of baby showers

It took so long, I thought the baby was going to be born before we left.
This baby shower is the first one I've had to buy anything for in a very, very long time. When I went shopping for this baby, I was surprised by the stuff that they have for babies now.

. They just didn't have all that cool shit when my kids were babies

. Don't worry, I don't care how cool that stuff was, it damn sure didn't make me want anymore babies

.

That pretty much sums up the past week for me. It's raining here AGAIN and I think I'm feeling a bout of depression coming on. My body is telling me it's lacking SUNSHINE!!!!!

Somebody help!!!
I always throw really long showers, I know it's awful, but I make everyone play those cheesy games, like melting candy bars in diapers and having everyone try to guess the candy bar. But all of my friends have grown kids and no new ones on the horizon. oh well!
Good luck on the driving situations in your house. I'm sure it'll all work out soon now.
Have a great week!

PolarB ;)
My youngest is 16 so you can imagine my surprise about all those new gadgets out there.
I think it's almost impossible NOT to throw a long shower. By the time you eat, play a few games, oooh and ahh over every little item it's 4 hours and counting
I'm just glad I don't see anymore babies on the horizon anytime soon. I don't think I could handle another shower right now
Killing doesn't even begin to describe what I wanted to do to them
Thanks. I'm going to need all the luck I can get with this driving thing.
The frog was bad enough. I'd be like Fred Sanford holding his chest saying "Here I come Elizabeth", if it were a snake.
Oh my...the prices of that stuff!!!
