 Running...
Back to Full Blog

Well the electrician got our power back on this morning (he had to find a certain type of something or another) and he was pretty nice in letting me keep MOST of my limbs

All said and done we were without power for two days and it didn't cost as much as we had thought it might, which is good news.

Another good news note....

For those of you who have followed my blog for awhile will understand the happiness I am feeling now that my oldest broke up with her boyfriend of almost two years

Now, if we can just keep him from going psyco, we'll be good (and that's not stretching the imagination either.....there are THINGS that could make up a post all in themselves but I don't have time right now).

I probably shouldn't feel this happy for the event in my daughter's life but damn it.........I do....I can't help it and it's not like she's all tore up about it. She's moved on and hasn't looked back so I don't feel TOO bad

My time is up and I'm heading somewhere...anywhere to start my weekend.

I hope everyone has a great one and the weather is nice

I feel your jubilation at your daughter dumping the one you, as her mother, knows is completely wrong for her. My daughter went out with way too many losers before finding the man she married (a man I whole-heartedly approve of). And when she brought home her future husband, I told her, "if you don't marry this one, I'll bust your ass!" Within a year he proposed and they have been blissfully wedded ever since.

hi there Sybil I have to admit my eldest son was dumped by his cheating girlfriend of over a year, I have never really liked her but put up with her because I have to for his sake. She really messed him up but he is getting over it & on the prowl again there is even talk about sorting out his relationship with the mother of his child, now this would really make me happy but I know that he is not ready yet to commit to anything serious as he is on the rebound not to mention the small minor detail on the fiancé in her life, yes she still loves my son yes she wants him to love her but at this stage she is not ready to let go of the new man... go figure....btw there is nothing wrong with being happy about the breakup especially if the relationship was not healthy for your daughter.... Take care T

Glad your bill is going to be as expensive as expected. Our electrician's bill turned out not to be so as high as we thought after the ice storm either....thank god. And we had to get a plumber out here shortly after which wasn't too awful bad either. I know people who had a lot higher bills so I guess we were lucky. Well have a good weekend and:

Hi Deeej

As you know, it IS frustrating when you know that person just isn't the RIGHT one. I'm glad it worked out for your daughter and she was able to find THE one for her

Morning Tina

No one said parenting would be easy but sometimes I think that the older they get, the harder it is to be a parent. It's so hard to sit back and watch them make mistakes that you KNOW they are making but yet, there's really not much you can do about other than to watch and hope that they come to their senses much sooner than later. The relationship my daughter was in wasn't good from day one and it never got any better, as they NEVER do and I can only hope that she took some very valuable lessons away from it and won't repeat the same mistakes again. I'd like to see her do her own thing and not even worry about being in a relationship with anyone and so far that's what she's doing. It's been such a pleasure seeing my 'old' daughter back.

Morning Miss Lou

I'm glad your bills didn't hurt y'all too bad. Sometimes I feel like I'm getting robbed when a repair guy has to make a visit so when our electrician's bill wasn't what we thought it would be, it was a pleasant surprise....well if you consider forking out money pleasant . It could've been much worse so any 'break' in the cost makes me happy.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Hi Sybil,

I hope your "running" slowed down to at least a jog! I hate it when I find myself in that position.......you don't know what to do first and if you are at all like me......I just end up standing there, wasitng even more time, trying to figure out the right way to go. Hope you had a little R$R this weekend!

Good afternoon CM

I could stand a good 'jog' right about now The weekend wasn't extremely busy but I didn't get the R & R I would've liked to have but that always seems to be the case here lately. The weather is finally turning pretty and there is so much stuff we need to get done outside that we take every sunny day we can get and on top of that, I've been trying to help as much as I can with my mama's yard. Keeping up TWO yards is a pain in the butt!!

Hey Secret

It WAS good news.......for a change . Not something I've been getting a lot of here lately so this is like water to a dying man. I only hope it's not a mirage

Thanks and I hope you have a good week also!!

One of the happiest times of my life was when my oldest daughter came home in tears to tell us she had broken up with the negligent indifferent boyfriend she had been dating for a couple of years.

He was a geek so into electronics and gaming and uninterested in her we could never understand her intense attraction (unless it was the challenge of getting him to show any spark of interest, that she loved).

Anyhow, congratulations on the breakup!

Funny how us parents can relish in our children's misfortune at times

Thanks for the congrats on the breakup (never thought I'd say that)
